What are summer dresses?

Summertime is the perfect time of year to embrace summer dresses that can keep us cool whilst looking chic and put together. Who should wear summer dresses?

There are no rules for who can wear a summer dress, as it’s a style that suits all body shapes and figures; it’s down to personal preference on what style you choose to wear. Midi dresses and long maxi dresses can be perfect if you want to cover up and divert attention away from certain areas. Mini dresses can be perfect for showing off your legs and staying cooler when the weather is warmer.

It doesn’t matter what your body type is or how confident you feel about showing it off, as there are so many different styles and types of summer dresses that you can wear to feel great in summer.

When should I wear summer dresses?

As soon as the weather gets warmer and the temperature begins to rise it's time to reach for lighter options in our wardrobe. This can include any time between the start of June to the end of August, but equally, you might find yourself wanting a summer dress from as early as April or even through an Indian summer into late September.

In fact, as soon as it’s warm or the sun is shining you can find yourself reaching for a summer dress to embrace the warmer weather. You don’t have to wait until you’re heading off on a plane and exploring a new destination to break out the holiday dresses this summer.

How should I wear summer dresses? What pairs well with summer
dresses?

Summer dresses can be easily dressed up or dressed down and pairing a dress with flat sandals and a pair of sunglasses can be the perfect minimal summer look. Equally, a summer dress can be worn with a blazer and dressed up for the office or thrown on over a bikini for the perfect beach dress outfit.

For nighttime, you can also style a summer dress into the perfect evening dress by adding heels, bolder makeup and metallic accessories. Silver and gold jewellery can add a luxury touch to a summer outfit, and mixing metals can be a great way to add different tones to your look.
